I spent a full week in Romania for the EverythingHR conference.
So many people to thank, and thoughts to share, and once I get home I will write much more next week.
Honestly, I was super hesitant accepting the invitation to keynote. I had never heard of the conference, and I knew very little about Romania. But Suzanne Lucas spoke last year, and loved it, and encouraged me to say yes.
So I did! I’ve been away from home more than I was home this spring, and for this trip I’ve been gone for a full week. But I’m lucky to get to do this. And I’m so glad I stayed an extra day after the conference.
Being alone is comfortable for me, traveling alone too. But sightseeing? I don’t tend to do alone. But yesterday I did, taking a 40 minute Uber to Bran Castle, the “Dracula” castle. Staying in the heart of Transylvania, I had to!
It was beautiful, and up a very, very steep hill – so I got some unexpected cardio!
I would have likely had to turn down this opportunity if I were not working for myself, or at the very least, it would have been a shortened trip. Fractional life has its ups and downs and mistakes and joys, but they are my mistakes and joys, and I’m so glad to have the opportunity to have them both!
